Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a collaborative team delivering design for overhead and underground transmission systems up to 500 kV. You will apply standards, guide PLS-CADD modeling, and drive project success across planning, environmental, permitting, and construction phases.

This senior leader will mentor staff, drive proposals, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in design of electric utility transmission systems, or 6+ years with a Master’s.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Work effectively in a team or independently.
• Strong communication as primary client contact.
• Willingness to work onsite when required; occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams executing various transmission projects for multiple clients.
• Develop and mentor Leidos’ engineering talent.
• Approve timesheets and drive annual performance reviews.
• Lead responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, defining scope and proposals.
• Foster continuous improvement and streamline processes.
• Oversee project health: scope, schedule, budget with PMO support.
