Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Lead Substation Protection & Controls Engineer for remote work across the US. You will own complex P&C designs on 12- to 500-kV systems, applying advanced logic and AC/DC expertise to protect the grid and enable renewal integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Eight+ years of substation protection and control design experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support delivery of substation protection and control design projects.
• Create and refine relay one-line diagrams showing protection zones and topology.
• Develop AC schematics showing current, voltage, and device relationships.
• Produce DC control and protection schematics for safe operation.
• Design control panels, wiring diagrams, and layouts for construction and maintainability.
• Build accurate BOMs aligned to project criteria and client requirements.
• Perform QC on wiring and schematic designs to ensure safety and quality.
• Provide guidance during installation, testing, and energization activities.
