Leidos in Denver, Colorado seeks a Lead Substation Protection & Controls Engineer to own advanced P&C designs for 12-500 kV systems, applying digital logic and AC/DC expertise to protect the grid and enable renewables. Remote work is possible with travel to customer sites as required.

The role requires a Senior/Lead level electrical engineer with eight or more years in substation protection and control design, strong communication, and leadership abilities to guide a high-performing team.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of substation protection and control design experience.
• Experience leading and executing substation protection and control projects.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support delivery of substation protection and control design projects with technical excellence and on-time performance.
• Create and refine relay one-line diagrams defining protection zones and system topology.
• Develop detailed AC schematics capturing current, voltage, and protection device relationships.
• Produce DC control and protection schematics ensuring safe operation of substation equipment.
• Design control panels, wiring diagrams, and layouts for construction and maintainability.
• Build accurate BOMs aligned with project criteria and client requirements.
• Perform QC checks on wiring and schematic designs for safety and constructability.
• Contribute from scoping through final design, implementation, and energization support.
• Provide guidance during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Apply NEC requirements to ensure safe and compliant designs.
• Interpret utility standards across design deliverables and collaborate with design staff.
