Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Protection & Controls Engineer to own complex P&C designs for 12-500 kV systems, applying advanced digital logic and AC/DC circuit expertise to protect the grid and enable renewables.

This remote role requires travel to US sites as needed; opportunities include PE licensure support, PM development, mentoring, and leadership pathways within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years in substation protection and control design.
• Experience leading substation P&C projects.
• Strong communication with clients and teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support delivery of substation protection and control design projects.
• Create relay one-lines and define protection zones.
• Develop AC schematics showing current, voltage, and protection relationships.
• Produce DC control and protection schematics.
• Design control panels, wiring, and layouts.
• Build accurate BOMs.
• Perform QC checks on wiring and schematics.
• Provide guidance during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Apply NEC requirements to designs.
• Interpret utility standards across all deliverables.
• Collaborate with design staff to produce complete drawings.
