Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in substation physical design.
  • Experience with electricity, preferably utilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and strong document management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PE license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design substations per codes and client standards, including general arrangement, electrical layout, elevations, and BOM.
  • Design ground grids and lightning protection plans.
  • Perform load, bus span, and ampacity calculations.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and cost estimates.
  • Create conceptual designs for facility planning studies.
  • Support procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance teams.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits and ensure QA/QC processes.
