Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead, Subcontracts Management in the United States to oversee cradle-to-grave subcontract activities for defense programs, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and applicable laws.

The successful candidate will interface with Leidos management, suppliers and internal teams, aligning subcontract outcomes with program goals and handling high-value, complex agreements while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship is required for government programs.
  • Experience awarding and managing subcontracts in a government purchasing system with FAR/DFARS knowledge.
  • Proven negotiating skills to maximize value, minimize risk, and secure favorable terms.
  • Experience managing various subcontract types with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Experience leading the subcontracts portion of proposals independently.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage concurrent projects and prioritize actions.
  • Ability to clearly articulate statuses and issues to management and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Craft teaming strategy and lead proposal activities for subcontracting.
  • Oversee subcontract award and post-award management including modifications and risk mitigation.
  • Identify complex issues on subcontracts and recommend mitigation steps to management.
  • Coach/junior staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
