Lumen Technologies in the United States seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the transformation of our database and platform engineering, driving SRE enablement, automation, and reliability for large-scale enterprise systems.

The role focuses on standardization, toil reduction, observability, and cloud modernization, partnering with Operations, Security, Cloud, and Architecture teams to elevate engineering productivity and service quality, while guiding brownfield migrations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/IS/related field.
• 12+ years in database/platform/SRE/cloud engineering roles.
• Experience leading large-scale engineering transformations in complex enterprises.
• Proven ability to standardize processes and improve reliability across platforms.
• Strong IaC, automation, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead transformation of DBA teams toward Platform Engineering and SRE practices.
• Drive automation-first and reliability-focused operating models.
• Develop standards, processes, and best practices for consistency and scale.
• Identify and eliminate repetitive manual activities across database operations.
• Lead modernization and simplification initiatives for cloud adoption.
