Job summary

ClearlyAgile is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to build and lead a modern QA/automation practice for web apps, APIs, and internal tools. You will define the quality strategy, drive automation, and establish scalable testing processes in a fast-paced, client-delivery environment.

The role emphasizes self-direction, cross-functional collaboration, and the use of AI-assisted testing to improve release readiness. Remote/hybrid options apply in a growing Tampa Bay consultancy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering experience.
• 2+ years building or maintaining automated tests.
• Experience testing modern web apps, APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
• Established or matured a QA/automation practice with testing standards, coverage strategy, tooling.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or similar.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience creating regression, smoke, integration, and acceptance test coverage.
• Strong ability to translate requirements into clear test plans and automated validation.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted QA tools, self-healing tests, or low-code/no-code platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot failed tests, isolate defects, identify flaky tests, improve reliability.
• Strong understanding of release readiness, defect lifecycle management, regression risk, and test coverage.
• Self-directed — can set the quality agenda and drive it without day-to-day direction — and communicates clearly with Product, Design, and Engineering.
