Matterport, a leading spatial computing platform, seeks a Lead Machine Learning R&D Engineer to research, design, and implement cutting-edge ML models for 3D data and digital twins. You will translate prototypes into production features and collaborate across product teams in a remote, fast-paced environment.

You will drive ML system architecture, stay abreast of advances, and contribute to patents/publications while mentoring others and delivering high-impact features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/related field.
• 3+ years in ML research/development with CV/3D data focus.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and Python.
• Strong fundamentals in DL architectures (CNNs/Transformers).
• Experience with NumPy and Pandas.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research and publish results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge ML/CV research on 3D data and digital twins.
• Design and optimize scalable ML pipelines for large 3D datasets.
• Translate research prototypes into production features for Matterport platform.
• Benchmark models and drive iterative ML improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings.
• Contribute to ML system architecture and roadmap.
• Support IP creation through patents/publications.
