Job summary

BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company, seeks an Engineering Manager for the Mission Management team in Seattle, WA, with remote work option. You will guide a group of engineers building software that autonomously plans imaging and communications across the BlackSky constellation, balancing reliability with rapid iteration.

You will drive architectural direction, establish engineering processes, and collaborate with mission operations, spacecraft engineering, product and program leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering, including distributed/autonomous/mission-critical systems.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams or as a technical lead with formal leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mission Management engineering team for autonomous satellite operations planning.
• Drive prioritization and planning across projects to align with business goals and customer commitments.
• Collaborate with flight ops, ground software, mission planning, and product teams to clarify requirements.
