Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer/Lead Mainframe Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain critical mainframe systems. You will drive platform improvements, ensure high availability, and mentor engineers across a geographically dispersed data center.

The role requires deep z/OS expertise, SMP/E, Coupling Facility, and automation experience, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions with production support.
• Expert level z/OS Mainframe Systems Programming background, including SMPE.
• Experience working with vendors to resolve software and systems issues.
• Good project management skills.
• Able to work off-hours, weekends and be on-call 24x7x365.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of mainframe systems.
• Collaborate with IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements and provide solutions.
• Document processes and participate in technical reviews and knowledge sharing.
