Job summary

enGen is seeking a Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer/Lead Mainframe Platform Engineer to drive design, implementation, and maintenance of critical mainframe systems. You will mentor engineers, lead complex projects, and ensure high availability in a dispersed data center environment.

The role requires deep z/OS, DB2, IMS, CICS, MQ experience, and strong collaboration skills. Remote-based work with 24x7 on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

5 years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions with minimal defects.
5 years of technical problem solving and cross‑functional collaboration.
5 years of CS concepts and core OS, languages, scripting knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of mainframe systems across environments.
Collaborate with IT, product, analytics and business teams to gather requirements and deliver IT solutions.
Monitor progress against schedules, report issues, and manage production support.
Document processes and participate in technical reviews and knowledge sharing.
Partner with architecture to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Mentor junior to mid-level engineers as needed.
Perform technical analysis to inform decision-making across departments.
Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in mainframe environments.
Handle on-call responsibilities and off-hours as required.
