Job summary
enGen is seeking a Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer/Lead Mainframe Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical mainframe systems. Deep expertise in z/OS, DB2, IMS, CICS, MQ, and related technologies is required, with leading complex projects, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior engineers.
The candidate will drive platform improvements, ensure high availability and performance, and champion best practices within a geographically dispersed data center
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/CE or related field required.
- 10+ years of experience with IBM z/Series mainframe preferred.
- Expert level z/OS mainframe with SMPE/DB2/IMS/CICS.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and implement technical solutions; provide production support with minimal defects.
- Collaborate with IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements.
- Monitor progress against schedule and report issues to leadership.
- Document processes and participate in knowledge sharing sessions.
- Align designs with architecture and enterprise standards.
- Mentor junior engineers as needed.
- Perform technical analysis to support decisions across departments.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
