Mercy seeks an Inpatient Coding Specialist Lead to supervise daily inpatient coding activities, monitor productivity, and mentor new coders. The role supports the Inpatient Coding Supervisor to ensure compliance with regulations and accurate coding across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The position emphasizes training, education, and continuous improvement, with a focus on quality and timely claim resolution within a remote work framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding in inpatient and/or outpatient hospital settings.
• Certifications: RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC or CIRCC to be completed within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to train and mentor new coders and collaborate with a coding supervisor.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines relevant to coding.

Responsabilités

• Lead inpatient coding activities and mentor new coders.
• Monitor productivity, assist with scheduling and workload management.
• Review coding edits/charges and resolve failed claims or follow-ups.
• Provide training and education to the coding team.
• Ensure coding meets regulatory and compliance standards in collaboration with supervisor.
