Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead EMT studies and Large Load modelling within the Energy Resources team. You will benchmark models, guide staff development, and support clients with advanced grid modeling and interconnection studies.

Bring 5–7 years of energy experience, PSCAD and RMS proficiency, and strong leadership. Remote US/Canada options and a supportive benefits program are offered as part of a modern grid innovation mission.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in the electric energy industry.
• Experience in Large Load modelling and EMT studies.
• Experience in generator modelling, EMT studies, transmission planning and interconnection studies is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one EMT software package such as PSCAD.
• Knowledge of modelling guidelines in ERCOT and North American markets.
• Experience in mentoring technical teams and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT studies and model benchmarking per IEEE, ISO and utility guidelines.
• Serve as SME on EMT/RMS model benchmarking for Large Load and interconnection studies.
• Lead advanced large‑load power system modelling and dynamic impact studies.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with ISO market teams and clients.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and stay current with industry innovations.
