Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking an Associate Technical Director for Modelling Services to lead end-to-end model development across generation and load, EMT and stability, and to build the service line, tools, and team.

The role requires owning model development end-to-end, guiding cross-functional teams, and delivering robust analyses for grid-code compliance and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in the electric energy industry with hands-on modelling experience.
• Deep EMT and stability modelling experience for generation, load, or both.
• Understanding of IBR behaviour: grid-forming and grid-following controls, fault ride-through, and applicable grid codes.
• Proficiency with modelling tools: PSS/E, PSCAD, TSAT, RSCAD, PowerWorld, or ASPEN.
• Able to lead across cross-functional teams and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex model development for generation and load, spanning EMT and stability domains.
• Direct real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop programs (RTDS, Opal-RT, RSCAD).
• Mentor modelling engineers and build a high-performance team culture.
• Advise clients and lead reviews of models and studies to accelerate projects.
• Shape go-to-market strategy for modelling services expansion and partnerships.
