Job summary

Shimmick, via our subsidiary Axia Electric, is seeking a Lead Electrical Estimator based remotely in Texas. This role supports project pursuits across the state and requires a Master Electrician License (Texas) and a relevant engineering/CM degree with 6 years of experience.

Responsibilities include developing complete estimates, material take-offs, and EVMS understanding. The position offers exposure to large-scale electrical/infra projects and collaboration with Axia Electric’s teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience.
• Master Electrician License (Texas) is required.
• Experience in heavy civil construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes.
• Prepares and coordinates full project estimates, including conceptual and final input.
• Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, bids, and contracts.
• Develops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials.
• Develops wage rate build-ups and cash flow schedules.
• Understands Earned Value Management (EVMS) theory and application.
