Job summary

Piping & Equipment Company is seeking a Lead Electrical Estimator (Industrial Construction) for remote work from anywhere in the U.S. You will gather data, read blueprints, and prepare cost estimates covering labor, materials, and time, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of electrical industrial construction estimating experience, strong analytical skills, and a degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience estimating Electrical Industrial Construction Projects.
• Proven work experience as a Construction Cost Estimator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Experience with cost estimation software.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• BSc degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Gathering details and compiling data to estimate all production costs, including labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
• Reading blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates.
• Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to understand the scope of work and required materials.
• Consulting with industry experts to gain a better understanding of labor and material costs.
• Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Preparing and submitting financial estimates and bids for construction projects.
• Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs.
• Adjusting cost estimates as necessary when designs change or project scope is adjusted.
• Evaluating the profitability and viability of a product or service.
• Conducting risk analysis to mitigate cost overrun.
• Using sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates.
