Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and operate foundational backend platforms and services across the organization. This role focuses on high-throughput system design, routing, caching, and durable event processing to support multiple engineering teams.

You will lead multi-quarter platform initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions, with full-time remote work within the United States and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
• Proven track record building and operating internal platforms used by multiple teams.
• Design distributed systems with strong consistency, availability, latency, and failure handling.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.
• Experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or NATS messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational, key-value, document, and search data stores.
• Experience leading multi-quarter platform initiatives with stakeholder management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write design docs.
• Mentor engineers and influence engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core backend platform services used by multiple teams.
• Lead high-throughput platform initiatives to handle large traffic with low latency.
• Define routing, caching, data fan-out, and asynchronous job execution.
• Shape engineering culture through code reviews and onboarding.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align roadmaps.
