Job summary

Assurant is seeking a Lead Accountant to join the Consolidations team, primarily remote. You will prepare and reconcile capital movements, manage equity changes, and assist with intercompany transactions and year-end close processes.

You will also contribute to journal entries, reconciliations, and ad-hoc analyses, with opportunities to improve processes and automation. Strong US GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, experience in Corporate or Consolidations environment a plus.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with Oracle ERP a plus.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile cash and non-cash capital movements between parent and subsidiary entities.
• Assist with accounting for entity acquisitions, dissolutions, mergers, and transfers.
• Review monthly consolidated equity pickup and eliminations for accuracy.
• Record equity related clean-up entries as needed and prepare related account reconciliations.
• Assist in reconciling and troubleshooting the year-end close out process.
• Track and reconcile intercompany loans.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliation for select entities, including domestic holding companies.
• Review international intercompany recharge entries as needed.
• Assist in recording and reconciling royalty payments between domestic and international entities.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for internal management or assist with projects as business needs change.
• Assist in SEC reporting schedule preparation and review of 10Q/10K as needed.
