Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Law & Motion Attorney to lead the firm's motion practice in complex civil litigation matters. This role offers remote work from anywhere with California Bar eligibility, with a base annual salary of $190,000–$235,000 and a Los Angeles presence for reference.

The attorney will draft and argue dispositive motions, develop case strategy with trial partners, and contribute to appellate briefs.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
• 10+ years of California civil litigation experience.
• Significant experience handling complex law and motion practice.
• Demonstrated success arguing dispositive motions in California state and federal courts.
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of law and motion practice for complex civil litigation matters.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, including MSJ/MSA, Demurrers, Motions to Strike, and Post-trial motions.
• Develop case strategy in collaboration with trial partners and litigation teams.
• Conduct sophisticated legal research involving complex procedural and substantive issues.
• Prepare appellate-quality briefs and persuasive memoranda.
• Review and edit briefs prepared by associates and senior attorneys.
• Assist with appellate strategy and preservation of legal issues for appeal.
