Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Academic Designer to develop K-5 science instructional materials for print and digital formats, including textbooks, interactive activities, assessments, and teacher lesson plans. This is a remote role serving US schools.

You should hold a Bachelor's in education or science, have 5+ years in educational publishing, deep NGSS knowledge, and experience creating HQIM assessments and digital curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, or science education.
• 5+ years in educational publishing or significant editorial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of NGSS standards.
• Ability to read, interpret, and unpack NGSS for grade bands and group performance expectations.
• Proven success creating assessments that measure progress across dimensions.
• Experience using HQIM assessment rubrics (EQuIP/EdReports) and digital curriculum development.
• Strong organization and ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
• Experience with Jira to manage sprint backlogs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing elementary science instructional materials for print/digital formats.
• Produce accurate, high-quality materials meeting standards and reading level.
• Follow approved workflows and meet intermediate/final schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with market requirements and product goals.
• Demonstrate strong time management and adaptability in an Agile environment.
