Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Academic Designer for Science (K-5) to plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital formats, including textbooks, interactive activities, and assessments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and project timelines.

The role is remote in the United States and ends on 8/31/2027. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in education or science, 5+ years in educational publishing, and strong NGSS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, or science education.
• 5+ years of experience in educational publishing and/or significant editorial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the NGSS.
• Ability to read, interpret, and unpack NGSS standards for grade bands.
• Experience creating assessments that measure student progress across three dimensions.
• Experience using HQIM rubrics (EQuIP/EdReports).
• Experience with digital curriculum development and digital products.
• Strong organizational skills and deadline-driven.
• Experience with Jira is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing elementary science instructional materials for print and/or digital formats.
• Produce accurate, high-quality instructional materials meeting standards and reading level requirements.
• Follow approved workflows and meet schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet market requirements and product goals.
• Demonstrate strong organization and time management in an Agile environment.
