Job summary

South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA) is seeking a certified Elementary Teacher to support the K-12 online program. You may work remotely from home or from Columbia, SC, serving families and students across the state.

You will manage instructional programs using telephone, internet and curriculum tools, and regularly consult with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instruction.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and punctual.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for testing events.
• Ability to work remotely and some evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports and conduct parent conferences.
• Communicate with parents, students and teachers to develop Personal Learning Plans and schedules.
• Develop knowledge of the program’s K-12 curriculum and grades assigned.
• Support students and families with alternate strategies and daily assignments.
• Keep student records up-to-date and log contacts with families.
• Participate in testing and student recruitment activities.
• Attend field trips and community activities as required.
