Job summary

SuperAnnotate AI, Inc. seeks a Japanese Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) to oversee quality across AI training projects.

You will review Japanese content and trainer work, evaluate outputs against rubrics, and provide precise written feedback to ensure consistency and high standards. You will lead or support remote teams, maintain rigorous documentation, onboarding materials, and style guides, and communicate updates via Discord.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Japanese or a related field.
• Native or near-native Japanese with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong English reading/comprehension to follow guidelines and give feedback.
• 3+ years in Japanese writing/editing/translation/localization or related QA.
• Deep knowledge of Japanese grammar, keigo, tone, and localization.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and spot issues.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers/QAs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spot-check Japanese items, identify quality issues, and provide feedback.
• Update guidelines and quality expectations to trainers via Discord.
• Respond to questions on Japanese grammar, keigo, tone, and terminology.
• DM inactive contributors, track follow-ups, and flag availability.
• Create and maintain Japanese documentation, style guides, trackers, FAQs.
• Run onboarding/training calls to explain workflows and rubrics.
• Ensure consistent application of Japanese language guidelines.
• Identify recurring quality gaps and help build scalable QA processes.
