Requirements include a Bachelor's or higher in Japanese-related field, native or near-native Japanese, C1 English, 5+ years in localization/translation, MQM/LQA experience, CAT tools proficiency, and strong editorial judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Japanese Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field.
• Native or near-native Japanese proficiency and strong command of locale conventions for Japan.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency (reading/writing).
• 5+ years of professional localization/translation experience.
• Demonstrated MQM/LQA concepts usage to produce quality decisions.
• Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows.
• Excellent editorial judgment with attention to detail.
• Rigorous fact-checking of localized content using reliable sources.
• Comfort as an hourly contractor across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training/annotation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and responses to guide AI learning across topics.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, fluency, and relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test models for inaccuracies or biases and validate reliability across use cases.
