Job summary

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, seeks a TypeScript Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) for remote contractor work. You will oversee quality across TypeScript training projects, review AI-generated TS code, provide precise feedback, and ensure adherence to rubrics and guidelines.

You will mentor trainers and QAs, maintain documentation, and help onboarding while managing remote teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related field.
• Strong English communication to provide clear technical feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in TypeScript/JavaScript development, frontend/backend, code review, or software QA.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript concepts including static typing, generics, unions/intersections, and type-safe API design.
• Knowledge of JavaScript runtime, promises, async/await, event loop, closures, modules, and modern ECMAScript features.
• Ability to evaluate TypeScript content against rubrics and identify issues like incorrect logic, type errors, or unsafe code.
• Familiarity with Node.js, React, Next.js, Express/NestJS, npm/yarn, Jest/Vitest, Playwright, ESLint, Prettier, Vite, Webpack, and GitHub workflows.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, or QAs is preferred.
• Comfortable with Discord, Google Sheets/docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project management tools.
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring: spot-check TypeScript items and provide ongoing feedback.
• Code review: evaluate AI-generated TypeScript code, type definitions, and reasoning for correctness.
• Trainer/QA communication: update trainers on guidelines, changes, and quality standards.
• Question handling: respond to questions around type safety, generics, strict mode, async logic, and rubric interpretation.
• Trainer/QA activation management: DM inactive contributors and track follow-ups.
• Documentation: create and maintain TypeScript project documentation and onboarding materials.
• Onboarding and training: schedule training calls to explain expectations and rubrics.
• Quality alignment: ensure consistent application of review guidelines as projects evolve.
• Risk and security review: flag unsafe or misleading code recommendations, security risks.
• Process improvement: identify quality gaps and help build scalable QA processes.
