Job summary

The Unconventional is seeking an Italian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor to deliver live virtual DL instruction, focusing on foreign language proficiency, regional knowledge, and culture.

You will develop engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback across DLPT/OPI-style assessments in a remote setting. A native or near-native speaker with ILR 3/3/3 is preferred, and a Windows computer with reliable internet is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Educated native speaker or near-native in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent.
• Experience delivering virtual foreign language instruction.
• Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the language region.
• Experience creating blended learning lessons and adapting materials to customer needs.
• Instructor must have access to a Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, and reliable high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual language instruction to improve proficiency across listening, reading, and speaking as measured by standard tests.
• Provide virtual instruction on regional culture using modern blended-learning methods.
• Develop lesson plans and learning materials as required.
• Assess and tailor instruction based on student levels from ILR 0+ to 3.
• Review, correct, and grade assignments and provide feedback.
• Maintain a positive and professional virtual learning environment across all channels.
• Collaborate with Site Lead, POI analyst, or Language Instructional Developer to address gaps.
