The Unconventional is seeking a remote Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor to support live virtual LREC instruction and program services. Responsibilities include delivering DL instruction to improve listening, reading, and speaking, plus culture and regional knowledge using blended-learning methods.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Educated native speaker of the foreign language or near-native with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent.
• Experience providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment.
• Understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region.
• Experience in creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials to customer needs.
• Instructor must have access to Windows-based computer, webcam, headset with mic, phone or tablet and high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual language instruction to improve proficiency across Listening, Reading, and Speaking as measured by DLPT, ACTFL or OPI.
• Provide virtual instruction on regional and culture subjects using modern blended-learning methods.
• Develop lesson plans or learning materials as required.
• Assess, develop a lesson plan, and deliver instruction based on student levels ILR 0+ - 3.
• Review, correct, and grade assignments and provide feedback.
• Maintain a positive professional virtual learning environment and address student behavior concerns with site lead.
