Job summary

Michigan State University, located in East Lansing, MI, is seeking a front-line IT professional to provide hands-on and remote assistance to faculty and staff. You will triage requests, coordinate team activities, and support the daily technology needs of ANR IT within the CANR.

This remote-friendly role offers opportunities to improve processes and contribute to enterprise IT initiatives. The position reports to the Service Desk Manager and requires strong customer service and collaboration

Qualifications

• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android devices in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with endpoint and device management solutions (Intune, Jamf, MECM/SCCM).
• Experience using IT service management systems (TeamDynamix, ServiceNow).
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, identity and access management, and endpoint security best practices.
• Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts (wired/wireless, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience supporting virtual desktop and remote computing environments.
• Experience evaluating, implementing, and supporting technology solutions to meet organizational needs.
• Experience participating in technical projects (planning, implementation, coordination).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with university stakeholders to design purchase, configure, and distribute technology assets.
• Manage assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Deliver high-quality workstation and software support.
• Administer employee accounts for access management.
