Job summary

Swooped is seeking an IT Service Manager to own IT and business systems operations for a distributed, remote-first workforce. You will manage endpoints, enterprise apps, and day-to-day tech support with a focus on automation and scalable self-service tooling.

You will collaborate with security to implement access controls, ISO-compliant policies, and tooling rollouts. The role is fully remote within the United States and reports to the VP of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience managing a distributed, remote-first IT environment with full operational ownership.
• Ability to work autonomously and guide priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience with enterprise Apple hardware, macOS, and MDM platforms (Kandji/Jamf/Hexnode).
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management (Okta) and security/compliance requirements.
• Experience building security/compliance controls and performing access reviews.
• Automating IT processes via scripting or self-service tooling to reduce tickets.
• Scripting in Python and using Claude Code for automation workflows and security tasks.

Responsibilities

• Own IT and business systems operations across the remote workforce, including provisioning and monthly software renewal reviews.
• Provide hands-on technical support with rapid first-call resolution.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding across device and account lifecycle for secure transitions.
• Collaborate with security leadership to maintain access controls and ISO documentation.
• Execute hands-on security tooling deployments, vulnerability remediations, and access reviews.
• Develop automation and self-service tooling to reduce manual requests and improve visibility.
• Manage Apple hardware fleet, including MDM policies, OS upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Oversee vendor onboarding/offboarding and documentation to align tech spend with needs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify IT requirements and deliver self-service systems.
