Job summary

DataGrail is seeking an IT & Business Systems Manager to own IT for a remote-first team, overseeing endpoints, identity, and business applications, reporting to the VP of Engineering, and partnering with Security on ISO compliance.

The role emphasizes building automated, self-service systems, scaling operations, managing vendor relationships, and delivering reliable, first-call IT support while aligning with data privacy objectives.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience owning a distributed, remote-first IT environment at a company of DataGrail's size.
• Ability to set direction for the IT function with high autonomy and minimal oversight.
• Hands-on administration of MDM platforms (Kandji, Jamf, Hexnode) and Apple devices.
• Strong identity and access management knowledge (Okta) and security/compliance focus.
• Experience maturing security controls and ISO 27001-aligned processes.
• Automation of IT workflows via scripting and self-service tooling.
• Python scripting and familiarity with AI tooling for automation.
• Vendor management and technology spend oversight within a formal process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own IT and business systems operations for DataGrail's remote workforce, including endpoint management and identity provisioning.
• Provide hands-on desktop support and set a standard for first-call resolution.
• Manage device lifecycle onboarding/offboarding and access controls with ISO considerations.
• Collaborate with Security to maintain audit trails and ISO compliance controls.
• Partner with security engineers on tooling rollouts and daily security workstreams.
• Build automation and self-service tooling to reduce manual tickets and improve consistency.
• Oversee Apple fleet management and OS upgrades end-to-end.
• Manage vendor relationships and the SaaS vendor process to optimize tech spend.
• Serve as a reliable IT point of contact across cross-functional teams.
