Job summary

People Data Labs is seeking a Manager of IT and Security to lead security, compliance, tools administration, and helpdesk for a fully remote organization in the United States. You will oversee a small team, collaborate with product and engineering, and drive secure, scalable IT operations.

The role emphasizes building audit-ready security programs, vendor management, and incident readiness, with a pragmatic approach to enabling the business while protecting data.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years leading IT, Security, or Technical Operations teams.
• 3+ years in fully remote environments.
• Experience managing IT project roadmaps, vendor relationships, migrations/rollouts.
• Knowledge of IAM, authentication standards, and DR planning.
• Strong organizational and PM skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience working with data via multiple delivery methods.
• AWS security (IAM, CloudTrail, Inspector, Organizations + SCP).
• SSO/identity provider, preferably Okta.
• Compliance automation (e.g., Vanta).
• Basic scripting (Python, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Manage the IT & Security Team.
• Oversee IT & Security project roadmap, helpdesk workflows, and prioritization for migrations, system rollouts, and security enhancements.
• Maintain structured, automated, and audit-ready security and compliance processes.
• Partner with product and engineering on security initiatives and plans for complex changes.
• Oversee company-wide application authentication stance, access management standards, and disaster recovery for critical systems.
• Facilitate vendor relationships, evaluations, contracts, and renewals to control tools spend.
