Job summary

Cadre5 in Knoxville, TN, is seeking an IT Project Manager – Software Engineering to drive strategic alignment for the American Science Cloud (AmSC) initiative. You will partner with software development and infrastructure teams to overcome governance and delivery blockers.

The role requires 5+ years of PM experience, deep Agile/Scrum expertise, and a track record of leading hybrid cloud and platform engineering initiatives. Remote work with occasional travel to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is supported.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of project management experience leading software development, cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or scientific computing initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to lead large technical teams to deliver complex projects.
• Prior experience as a software developer or systems engineer is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated application of Agile methodologies, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Reporting & Briefings: Prepare and deliver formal project status reports, health metrics, and briefings to the Project Leadership team.
• Risk & Issue Mitigation: Drive the resolution of project-level risks and issues; overcome governance blockers.
• Quality Assurance: Champion quality standards and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Review Coordination: Plan, execute, and oversee critical project reviews and audits.
• Integration Oversight: Track integration testing milestones across facility sites.
• Workflow & Sprint Support: Support workflow management, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with developers, researchers, and leadership to meet program objectives and user needs.
