Job summary

Cadre5 is seeking an IT Project Manager for Software Engineering in Knoxville, TN. This primarily remote role involves occasional travel to Oak Ridge, with an emphasis on coordinating AmSC initiatives and governance across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years leading software, cloud, and platform engineering work, strong Agile experience, and the ability to collaborate with scientists, engineers, and leadership to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading software development, cloud, or platform engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership managing large technical teams.
• Experience as a software developer or systems engineer is desirable.
• Strong Agile planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reporting & Briefings: deliver formal project status reports and health metrics to leadership.
• Risk & Issue Mitigation: address risks and blockers, escalate when needed with governance.
• Quality Assurance: uphold quality standards across cross-functional teams.
• Review Coordination: plan and oversee critical project reviews and milestones.
• Integration Oversight: track integration testing across multiple facility sites.
• Workflow & Sprint Support: assist Release Managers and Scrum Masters with planning.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: align with developers, researchers, and leaders.
