Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks a Program Operations Specialist to support USPS IT modernization programs. You will coordinate a portfolio of initiatives, build integrated schedules, and provide executive-level insights for prioritization and decision making.

You will develop dashboards in Power BI, manage risks, and mentor junior PMO staff while ensuring alignment with federal IT standards and governance. This remote US role offers exposure to enterprise-level modernization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
8-10 years of experience in IT program/project management, PMO operations, or IT consulting, with several years supporting a CIO or enterprise IT directorate.
Experience as a senior consultant or lead PMO practitioner on large-scale federal IT modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise technology programs.
Proven ability to develop and manage integrated master schedules, roadmaps, and portfolio dashboards for complex, multi-system, multi-vendor environments.
Experience with federal acquisition and IT contracting (e.g., task orders, IDIQs, CLINs).
Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across CIO, business, and vendor stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication.
Advanced skills with Microsoft products: Power BI, Power Apps, Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

Operate within the program management office to coordinate and oversee a portfolio of IT modernization programs and projects.
Provide portfolio-level insights on schedule, cost, risk, dependencies, technical fit, and business value to support prioritization and investment decisions.
Develop and maintain integrated master schedules and multi-year roadmaps reflecting dependencies across systems and USPS windows.
Build and manage program-level dashboards (Power BI) showing status, risks, issues, and KPIs.
Conduct resource and capacity planning; recommend staffing models and sequencing.
Maintain consolidated risk, issue, and dependency registers focusing on tech and continuity risks.
Coordinate with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, operations, data, and vendors to align initiatives with standards.
Drive continuous improvement of PMO practices through analysis of delivery performance and governance changes.
Prepare executive briefings and portfolio summaries for USPS CIO leadership and senior IT leaders.
Mentor junior PMO staff on enterprise-level program management and stakeholder engagement.
