Job summary

Coinbase seeks an Internal Audit Analytics Associate to join the IT Internal Audit team within Finance. You will extract, analyze, and validate large datasets to assess IT and security controls across Coinbase's technology infrastructure and crypto-native products.

You will design SQL extracts, build dashboards, test ETL processes, and partner with Engineering, Security, and IT to translate findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a data analytics role at a technology, consulting, financial institution, or fintech firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries and work with large datasets on platforms such as Snowflake, including query optimization and reusable code patterns.
• Working knowledge of IT operations, security infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise tech stacks to identify control gaps.
• Experience testing or validating data ETL workflows and ensuring data completeness and accuracy across pipeline stages.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Execute in-depth data analysis by writing complex SQL queries against Snowflake and other data platforms.
• Validate system and model changes by testing compliance and performance impact and documenting results.
• Produce data extracts and reports from multiple sources and translate audit requests into clear outputs.
• Test ETL processes from production systems to the data repository and from repository to enterprise tools.
• Design and enhance metrics dashboards to measure IT and security performance and provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and IT stakeholders to gather evidence and communicate findings.
