Job summary

Lockheed Martin ITAP offers a cohort-based apprenticeship to build practical software and IT skills through rotational pods, mentorship, and real project work, with progress through milestones toward certification and program graduation.

The role is remote with candidates located in Puerto Rico; you will rotate across pods, contribute to live projects alongside engineers, and pursue IT certifications during the program with the goal of converting to a full-time exempt employee upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Software Engineering or related field or equivalent combination.
• General knowledge of programming and software development.
• Willingness to learn through the program’s pods and rotations.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a mentorship-driven environment.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, C, C++ or similar languages.
• Familiarity with version control tools and basic databases/cloud tools.
• Initiative to pursue industry certifications in cloud, networking, or programming.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through multiple technology pods to gain broad hands-on experience.
• Contribute to real projects alongside engineers and mentors.
• Work toward obtaining IT certifications during the program.
• Build skills in programming, development, and systems support.
• Begin as a non-exempt apprentice with limited benefits and convert after graduation.
