Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Senior Research Analyst with IP research expertise to support lawyers and staff across a global platform. The role emphasizes high-quality research, training, and proactive problem solving from a remote-capable position.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Research Services and collaborates with multiple offices to deliver timely, cost-effective results while managing billable workloads and training colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience performing complex research in a deadline-driven environment.
• Applicants with Intellectual Property research experience are preferred.
• Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution; JD-holding applicants with law library experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level research and consultative services to lawyers and allied professionals across time zones.
• Conduct legal, business, and public records research using government and subscription resources.
• Evaluate sources for currency, reliability and cost-effectiveness; select optimal resources.
• Present clear, organized results and integrate findings into final work products.
• Prioritize billable workflow and meet deadlines; communicate around deadlines as needed.
• Lead research strategy for complex queries requiring expert analysis and project management.
• Provide current awareness and litigation alerting for industry sector and business development initiatives.
