Job summary

KDW Firm PLLC is seeking a full-time IP Patent Paralegal to support patent prosecution efforts for domestic and foreign filings. This remote position involves preparing and filing documents, managing a patent docket, and interfacing with USPTO and foreign associates.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup. Compensation up to $75,000/year, with benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as an Intellectual Property Paralegal, with a focus on PATENT prosecution.
• Knowledge and experience with USPTO and foreign patent prosecution procedures.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
• Self-motivated and resourceful with ability to work independently and remotely.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all aspects of patent prosecution, including preparation and filing of domestic and foreign patent applications, formalities, responses to pre-examination notices and amendments.
• Manage patent docket including monitoring deadlines, timely reminders, and communicating updates to the appropriate parties.
• Assist with portfolio management, including maintaining accurate records and updating client databases.
• Interface with the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO), foreign associates and internal and external clients.
• Coordinate with attorneys, inventors, and clients to gather pertinent information and documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, supervisors. and colleagues to analyze problems and develop solutions.
• Maintain current knowledge of patent laws and procedures.
