CNO Financial Group, Inc. in Carmel, IN is seeking an Investment Accounting Intern to support day‑to‑day investment accounting activities within the department.

This paid internship runs May 17 through August 6, 2027 and offers exposure to financial reporting and industry regulations. You will learn investment accounting processes, work with Singularity, develop BI/Excel skills, and participate in networking and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• Rising junior or rising senior with approx. graduation dates 2027–2029.
• Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
• Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone preferred or willing to work those hours.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to learn investment accounting processes, regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with data entry, validation, and maintenance in the investment subledger database.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly workpapers and supporting documentation for financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Support testing, data validation, and process documentation for the Singularity system.
• Participate in quality control to verify data accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze data to improve organization, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
• Document findings of balance and variance analyses for review by senior team members.
• Support cash balancing, suspense transaction research, and preparation of reporting schedules.
