Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a communications project manager to support the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. The role emphasizes writing and editing for internal communications, including a monthly newsletter, staff emails, and SharePoint updates, with an emphasis on plain language and accessibility.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or communications and at least four years of writing/editing experience, plus proficiency with AP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field preferred.
• Four years of writing and editing experience.
• Four years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Four years’ experience with plain language and AP style preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit content for newsletter articles, staff emails, PowerPoint presentations and SharePoint content (30%).
• Distribute GovDelivery emails and produce SharePoint content using existing templates and guides (30%).
• Edit legislative and other reports and documents for accessibility and plain language (15%).
• Design SharePoint content, documents, brochures, graphics (10%).
• Create and maintain processes and procedures for communications project (10%).
• Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)
