Community Health Systems is seeking an Insurance Specialist I to verify insurance eligibility, confirm benefits, and manage pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient services. You will ensure payor requirements are met and communicate with patients, providers, and office staff to keep financial clearance accurate.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled and unscheduled services to ensure coverage and compliance with payor requirements.
• Calculate and communicate the patient''s estimated financial responsibility for scheduled services.
• Identify and ensure authorization and referral requirements are met per payor guidelines.
• Validate and document all authorizations and referrals according to policies.
• Review medical necessity of scheduled services based on payor criteria.
• Document and maintain all records and communications per standards.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibility.
• Process and index incoming orders and ensure documentation standards.
