Job summary

Currance Inc. is hiring a Pre-Access Specialist to verify insurance coverage for physician, hospital, and surgery center appointments, secure necessary authorizations, and discuss financial responsibility with patients to ensure timely reimbursement.

You will work remotely in the United States, coordinating with payers and clinical teams to resolve coverage gaps and support a smooth patient financial experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years in insurance verification, patient access, revenue cycle, medical billing, healthcare customer service, or related setting.
• Experience with EMR systems (Meditech, Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Nextgen, HST/Clarity, Waystar or similar) to support billing and account resolution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and other business software.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and network participation for physician offices, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers.
• Secure authorizations for ordered procedures within defined timelines.
• Coordinate with clinical team for unattainable authorizations or delays.
• Contact payers and use electronic verification tools to confirm coverage and benefits.
• Explain financial responsibility to patients and prepare cost estimates.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and support process improvements.
