Job summary

RI International is seeking a Guest Eligibility Specialist I to support our crisis remote team. This part-time, non-exempt role focuses on verifying insurance eligibility, handling authorizations, and ensuring accurate intake for Louisiana and North Carolina cases.

The position requires 4+ years of registration experience, CMS coding knowledge, and strong attention to detail. Training spans evenings; weekend shift is required; remote work with CST residency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of registration and authorization experience.
• Working knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines and coding policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Valid driver license and be 18 years of age.
• HIPAA confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Review CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes to determine necessity of prior authorization.
• Submit and follow up on authorizations via payer portals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for authorizations.
• Communicate with providers, teams and clients.
• Report payer issues trends to Revenue Cycle Manager.
• Follow processes for corrected authorizations and appeals.
• Track pending/resolved payer issues and history.
