Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an attorney with insurance defense experience to manage cases from inception to resolution. You will draft pleadings and motions, perform legal research using Westlaw, and develop litigation strategies while maintaining organized case files and meeting billing requirements.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of insurance defense litigation experience, strong writing and research abilities, and a solid understanding of Illinois civil procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense litigation from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other platforms.
• Develop litigation strategies and analyze evidence, testimony, and expert opinions.
• Represent clients during hearings, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Maintain organized case files and meet billing deadlines.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys while independently managing your caseload.
