Confidential Employer in downtown Chicago, IL seeks an associate with 2+ years of insurance defense litigation to manage cases from inception to resolution, take and defend depositions, attend court appearances, draft pleadings, and contribute to strategy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Active admission to the Illinois Bar.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters while working collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Manage discovery and contribute to case strategy development.
• Perform legal research and analysis on complex litigation issues.
• Maintain regular client communication and provide clear case reporting.
• Independently manage deadlines, priorities, and multiple active matters.
• Collaborate with partners and colleagues on litigation strategy and case development.
