Job summary

Confidential Employer in Chicago, IL, seeks an attorney with 2+ years of insurance coverage experience to draft opinions, analyze policies, and handle coverage litigation nationwide. This hybrid role blends in-person collaboration in downtown Chicago with flexible remote days.

You will work closely with experienced partners, benefit from a structured mentorship program, and participate in an Associate Bonus Program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance coverage experience.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Experience with GL, auto, professional liability, or D&O policies is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented practice.

Responsibilities

• Draft insurance coverage opinions and coverage position letters involving complex policy issues.
• Analyze insurance policies, claims, potential exposures, and coverage obligations.
• Handle insurance coverage litigation matters across jurisdictions nationwide.
• Conduct detailed legal research and develop clear, persuasive written analysis.
• Collaborate closely with partners and associates on sophisticated coverage matters.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding coverage strategy, litigation developments, and case direction.
• Build practical litigation and insurance coverage experience while taking on increasing responsibility.
