Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Insurance Claims Handler to join our remote operations, serving clients across South Africa with a focus on Welkom, Free State. You will manage the full lifecycle of claims, from logging to settlement, providing accurate assessments and timely updates to policyholders.

Ideal candidates have claims experience, good knowledge of policy wordings, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with claims software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance claims handling.
• Good understanding of policy wordings and coverage.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Proficiency with claims management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log new insurance claims accurately.
• Gather documentation from policyholders and others.
• Assess validity and scope based on policy coverage.
• Provide timely status updates to policyholders.
• Coordinate with assessors, investigators and legal advisors as needed.
• Determine settlements and authorize payments within limits.
• Maintain detailed records of all claim activities.
• Identify potentially fraudulent claims for escalation.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and laws.
