Job summary

Boutique Recruiting seeks a Litigation Attorney for a fully remote role supporting insurance bad faith and commercial matters. The position offers early court and deposition experience, hands-on coaching by the owner, and a merit-based bonus structure.

Expect a high-volume, billable-hour environment with potential raises after several months and a share of fees from clients you bring in.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience with law and motion work.
• Business or commercial litigation experience.
• Active California bar license.
• Strong writing ability; writing samples available on request.
• Ownership of your own calendar and reliable follow-through.
• Preferred: Experience taking or defending one or two depositions.
• Insurance coverage or bad faith experience is not required.
• Residence in Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle business and commercial litigation and law and motion work on bad faith and commercial cases.
• Draft motions, including motions for summary judgment, and argue them in court.
• Attend, take, and defend depositions, with training from the team.
• Learn insurance bad faith coverage defense through direct training from the firm's owner.
• Work on assigned cases alongside one partner, with the owner providing oversight.
• Prepare cases for trial, which the owner and a partner try.
• Prepare and format your own work product, with a paralegal supporting formatting and filing.
• Manage your own calendar in Clio and follow matters through to completion.
• Bill 2,000 or more hours per year.
